Her research focus is in public history. She has been recognized globally for her expertise on the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) of World War II, including work with the media and in documentary films. She was nominated for an Emmy Award for her work as a contributing producer and historian on the film "Silver Wings, Flying Dreams: The Complete Story of the Women Airforce Service Pilots." In addition to her public history work, Landdeck is completing her book, "The Women with Silver Wings," following the WASP of World War II from the 1920s to 2017 to be published by Crown Publishing, a division of Penguin-Random House. The book has been optioned for a film by Fox 2000, the same 20th Century Fox studio that produced "Hidden Figures."
