Cecily N. Zander is an Assistant Professor of History at Texas Woman’s University and a Senior Fellow at Southern Methodist University’s Center for Presidential History. Her first book, The Army Under Fire: Antimilitarism in the Civil War Era, will be published by Louisiana State University Press in February 2024. Her work has been supported by fellowships from the Huntington Library, the University of Oklahoma’s Western History Collections, and the United States Army Center for Military History. She has published essays on the Civil War and the American West in numerous edited collections, scholarly journals, and popular magazines.
