Biography
Dr. Ann Wheeler is a Professor of Mathematics at Texas Woman’s University. She completed her graduate work in Educational Mathematics at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado. Dr. Wheeler joined the Division of Mathematics and Computer Science in 2009 as an Assistant Professor. Since spring 2021, Dr. Wheeler has worked as an affiliate member of the Graduate School as Coordinator of Special Projects in Graduate Education. Her research interests include integrating technology and children’s literature into the mathematics classroom, as well as mentoring women leaders and STEM education.

Current Projects
Currently, Dr. Wheeler is working with Dr. Holly-Hansen Thomas on the 2023-2025 grant entitled “[Wo]Mentoring in Graduate Education” funded by the Jane Nelson Institute for Women’s Leadership, which funds five graduate students to work with mentors to learn more about women’s leadership in academia and the workforce. In addition, she also just received funding for a five-year Department of Education grant entitled “Toolkit for Enacting Digital Curricula (the TEDC Project),” in which Dr. Wheeler will work with local school districts to video effective uses of digital curricula in elementary mathematics classrooms.
