Faculty Enrollment for University Studies
The Texas Woman's University encourages the continual growth and development of faculty and provides formal and informal opportunities for continuing education. Continued faculty appointments in some professional programs require formal professional continuing education to maintain licensure and be eligible to teach in University academic programs. The University expects faculty members who do not hold the terminal degree in their field to continue their studies until the appropriate degree is earned.
Members of the faculty who do not hold the terminal degree must discuss their plans for additional study with the appropriate dean. No member of the faculty may be admitted to the Graduate School of the Texas Woman's University for the purpose of pursuing a degree in the department or discipline in which she/he teaches. It is contrary to University policy for a member of the faculty to pursue a doctorate or other terminal degree at an unaccredited institution.
