Teen mom persevered on course to MBA
Cierra Wirth Richardson chose to pursue an MBA at Texas Woman’s University because of the resources, support and encouragement it provides its students. Cierra valued the diversity at TWU, which she noted was accepting of everyone, and its collective, uplifting student body and alumni connection.
Cierra is one of the 2 percent of teen moms to have earned an undergraduate degree before age 30. At 28-years-old, Cierra is now among the very few teen moms to have earned a master’s degree.
Cierra decided to pursue a graduate degree in business after discovering her passion for helping small businesses while working in the banking industry.
After graduation, Cierra plans to continue advancing her career in banking while also working to make a positive impact in local communities through community involvement and mentorship.
Cierra’s long-term goal is to one day establish a nationally recognized nonprofit that supports single moms pursuing a college education. Cierra hopes to use her story to inspire others to pursue their dreams and to know that nothing in this world is impossible.
