Two from TWU recognized by Leadership Women
Jan. 23, 2024 — DENTON — Holly Hansen-Thomas, PhD, and Gina Anderson, EdD, were named to the Leadership Texas Class of 2024 by Leadership Women.
Leadership Texas is the longest-running women’s leadership development program in the U.S. and will provide opportunities to receive cutting-edge information from recognized experts, government officials and other thought leaders.
It is designed for participants to explore critical issues outside of their own industries and spheres of influence. This year, Leadership Texas will focus on cultural, social and economic issues in Dallas, Lubbock and San Antonio. The theme is “Leadership Challenges for the Future: Leading in the Lone Star State.”
“I am thrilled to be selected,” Hansen-Thomas said. “I am looking forward to continuing to develop my leadership skills and network with inspiring women leaders in the state of Texas.”
Anderson was also thrilled for the opportunity and already is considering how she can better impact TWU students.
“I plan to apply what I learn to my current and future leadership roles and to make an impact on the success of not only our students and programs at TWU but also across the state.”
Hansen-Thomas, vice provost of research, innovation and corporate engagement, and Anderson, associate dean for educator preparation and partnerships in the College of Professional Education, will participate in the year-long program.
The mission of Leadership Women, Inc. established in Austin in 1974, is to advance women’s leadership through programs that connect, inspire, empower and honor women.
