COPE announces RII Speaker Series Fall lineup
Aug. 25, 2022 — DENTON — The College of Professional Education brings back the Research, Inclusion and Innovation Speaker Series for the second year after a successful run during the 2021-22 academic year. For the 2022-23 academic year, Associate Dean Maria Peterson-Ahmad, PhD, announced a compelling lineup that includes:
- Donald Easton-Brooks, PhD
- Michael J. Kennedy, PhD
- Natalie Danner, PhD
Easton-Brooks, Dean of the College of Education & Human Development at the University of Nevada, Reno, will kick off the year with a presentation on equity in education.
Kennedy, a professor at the University of Virginia, won the 2021 TED/Pearson Excellence in Teacher Education Award. He will be presenting “Building Declarative, Procedural, and Conditional Knowledge: The Elusive Pursuit of All Three”.
Danner, the Early Childhood Content/Engagement Coordinator for the Illinois Early Learning Project at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, will present “Joyful Inclusion in Montessori Education”.
