Clinical Experiences

Our Educator Preparation Program is committed to preparing teacher candidates for entry and sustainability in educational settings. We are committed to embedding high quality research-based practices into all clinical placement settings.

Our office works closely with area schools to arrange high-quality field experience placements as well as clinical teaching placements.

The Fall 2026 Clinical Teaching Application will be available in Feb. 1-22, 2026.

Testing Requirements for Clinical Teachers and Interns

Fall 2026: Prospective Fall 2026 clinical student teachers and interns must earn passing scores on all required practice exams and state TExES exams (content, PPR, STR and supplemental exams if applicable) by June 1, 2026, in order to begin clinical teaching or an internship in the Fall 2026 semester.

Testing Requirements for Pioneer Teacher Residents

Pioneer Teacher Residency Program candidates must earn passing scores on all required practice exams and state exams TExES exams (content, STR if applicable, and supplemental exams if applicable) by the following dates:

• Houston ISD Grow Your Own (GYO): April 1
• Tomball ISD & Aldine ISD Grow Your Own (GYO): June 1

Scores must be received by our office by the stated deadline.
