Introducing Monica Christopher

Dear Texas Woman’s Community,

Happy 2024, and welcome to a new semester filled with possibilities. To start on a high note, I have some outstanding news. I am pleased to announce Monica Christopher as the inaugural Dallas Campus President. She will begin her role on Thursday, February 1.

Monica Christopher, TWU Dallas President

Monica is an exceptional innovator and collaborator with a track record of successful fundraising and relationship-building in Dallas. Her skill set checks all the boxes in our goal to gain greater influence, rapidly grow partnerships, and increase philanthropic support in Dallas, which will serve our university system well as we work toward growing the Dallas campus into an autonomous university.

Her Dallas roots run deep, spanning 25 years of experience in philanthropy, fundraising, and community relations. She has an extensive background working with boards, foundations, nonprofits, and corporations and has held numerous key positions geared toward cultivating relationships in those areas. Monica demonstrates great passion for our shared mission with a polished, energetic professionalism.

As president, Monica will provide strategic leadership for the campus. She will work with students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders ― alumni, community members, business and industry leaders, legislators, and policymakers ― to grow our Dallas campus.

While Monica’s role will be aimed at campus development, academic priorities will remain the focus of the provost’s office, and programs will continue to report to current directors, chairs, deans, and the provost.

A challenging journey in building the Texas Woman’s University System lies ahead. Monica will turn to many of you, our leaders and constituents, for strategic advice in developing and executing a collaboratively built plan.

Installing leadership at our campuses in Dallas and Houston has been a top priority for Texas Woman’s, so that we may blossom into a thriving university system that will serve more Texans and have a greater impact on the Dallas and Houston communities. I appreciate the faculty and staff on the Dallas campus for providing critical feedback on our two candidates during the search.

A long journey begins with a first step — and I believe we have taken a strategic one in selecting a proven leader for the Dallas campus.

With a pioneering spirit,

Carine M. Feyten, Ph.D.
Chancellor and President
