Happy spring!

Dear Colleagues,

Happy first day of spring! I want to thank you for your messages of support while I have been journeying with my mother through her final days. As she keeps hanging on, I had to make the tough decision to return stateside so I could catch up on duties that I could not do remotely.

One of those is supporting our TWU Athletes’ incredible momentum across the sports, but last night, the focus was on TWU Basketball. Our team made history, again, advancing to the Elite 8. I am so proud of our student-athletes and their coaches. Go Pioneers!

Another of my duties is to remind you about the “Great Colleges to Work For” survey conducted by ModernThink for The Chronicle of Higher Education. I have long heard that this is a great place to work because of Texas Woman’s people and mission, but we have yet to join our peers from West Texas and others who consistently make the honor roll with the ensuing national media attention. Will this will be our year? Please search your inbox or junk mail box for an email from ModernThink to see if you were part of their random selection process.

I am working on a longer, more comprehensive update on topics such as SB 17, the Dream Big campaign, and more, but I need to gather a little more data before I can finish penning what I have started. Stay tuned.

It is wonderful to be back here with my Texas Woman’s family. I look forward to seeing so many of the smiling faces I have missed!
