Bezos Academy groundbreaking and happy Eid!

Dear Texas Woman’s Colleagues,

I invite you to the groundbreaking for the Denton campus Bezos Academy. This long-awaited project supports the multifaceted work of our strategic plan’s Family Matters initiative, co-led by Dr. Catherine Dutton and Amy O’Keefe.

Texas Woman’s has long pioneered success for students with children. Since 2017, the Texas State Department of Health and Human Services has recognized Texas Woman’s as a mother-friendly worksite, and since 2018, we have earned the agency’s silver-level designation. We are also recognized as one of the Best Colleges for Students with Children in the nation.

We will host the event at 1820 Frame Street on April 25, 11 a.m. Please use the registration link if you plan to attend so we can minimize waste.

If you wish to walk about a half mile to the groundbreaking from the center of campus, avoid University Drive by walking north on Bell Avenue and then taking a right on Woodland Street.

I look forward to this new partnership between Texas Woman’s, the City of Denton, and the Bezos Academy. We will continue pioneering our core values of “opportunity” and “excellence” for our students and surrounding communities.

In closing, happy Eid al-Fitr! For those who have observed the month of Ramadan, I hope your fasting and iftar have brought you closer to family and friends and given you new insights on your spiritual journey.

With a pioneering spirit,

Carine M. Feyten, PhD
Chancellor and President
