Reminder about the Faculty and Staff Excellence Awards 2022
Good afternoon, Texas Woman’s Colleagues,
This is the time of year when we celebrate each other’s excellence, and I am writing you today to remind you of the 2022 Faculty and Staff Excellence Awards—awards selected by your peers. The event will take place in the auditorium of the Student Union at Hubbard Hall and via livestream, at 3 p.m. At that time, we will also recognize prior honorees from the pandemic years 2020 and 2021. I believe that during challenging times, it is particularly important to be there for each other and honor our successes.
Following that presentation, we will celebrate all the honorees with a reception hosted by Chartwells in the SE Ballroom. Like the celebrations that we have already hosted on the Dallas and Houston campuses, I will also offer some remarks and a toast to our designation as the first university system in the nation with a woman focus.
I realize many of you might wonder why I have not communicated further after my message from March 14. I want you to know that I have been meeting with the Faculty Senate leadership, as has the provost, and we have a meeting scheduled with the Faculty Senate Executive Committee for April 22. Working towards a resolution and authentic shared governance is a top priority of mine, and I pledge that I will do all I can to uphold those values for the good of our community.
I hope that despite these challenges, we will not let them cast a shadow over our celebrations. These are your awards, your celebration of excellence. I really look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
With a pioneering spirit,
Carine M. Feyten, Ph.D.
Chancellor and President
