Happy Fourth of July
Dear Texas Woman’s Community,
I hope this message finds you well on this Fourth of July 2021.
Today, I hear from students, friends, and colleagues who are marching in parades, running in community races, and preparing feasts for loved ones. It does my soul good to see the freedom we have to once again be in community with one another.

This weekend, Chad and I snuck away to spend some time in Florida. As I think about the larger meaning of Independence Day, I am reminded of the quote by Thomas Paine: “grow brave by reflection,” from his series The American Crisis, 1776. However you celebrate today, I hope you find space to revel in the core values that unite us.
