Jennifer Stevens
Stevens is a seasoned strategist and widely respected leader in the fields of public affairs, communications and event production. With more than 35 years of experience, Stevens is known for her expertise in message strategy, team leadership and producing high-impact events that drive meaningful outcomes.
In 2004, Jennifer founded JHL, a consulting firm specializing in strategic communications, public affairs and event production. Under her leadership, JHL has grown into the most successful firm of its kind in Austin—trusted by Fortune 500 executives, celebrities, elected officials and nonprofit leaders alike. Stevens and her team have raised over $250 million for philanthropic efforts across Texas and beyond. Her ability to build and manage high-performing teams, craft compelling narratives and execute large-scale events has made her one of the most sought-after professionals in her field.
Before launching her own business, Stevens built a distinguished career in politics. She got her start in 1994 on the George W. Bush for Governor campaign and worked alongside Senator John Cornyn for more than six years. In 2002, Stevens served as campaign manager for Senator Cornyn’s successful U.S. Senate race, a campaign The Dallas Morning News called “nearly flawless.”
Stevens serves on the boards of the Center for Child Protection and RBI Austin, and is a former board member of Texas Exes, Foster Angels of Central Texas, the Austin Chamber of Commerce and The Seton Fifty. She has served as a director of the Texas Lyceum, a Robert S. Strauss Fellow, and held board roles with the Umlauf Sculpture Garden and the Austin Sports Commission.
A proud native of Denton, Stevens earned her degree from the University of Texas at Austin. She lives in Austin with her husband Don and their three children. Outside of work, Stevens is an avid runner, a devoted (if struggling) Pilates and yoga student, and a die-hard fan of Texas Longhorn sports and Trinity University Baseball.
Over the past two decades, Jennifer has helped shape countless causes, campaigns and charitable initiatives, leaving a lasting imprint on the Austin community and beyond.
