Center to award $25K in grants to women veteran-owned businesses

Jan. 6, 2026 — DENTON — The Center for Women Entrepreneurs (CWE) at Texas Woman’s University has announced its sixth Veteran Woman Entrepreneur Grant program, which will award five $5,000 grants to Texas women veterans who own businesses.

Applications will be accepted from Jan. 27 through Feb. 27, and grant recipients will be announced in March. Required business training will begin on March 24.

“Our women veteran entrepreneurs bring discipline, leadership and resilience into their businesses,” said Tracy Irby, CWE director. “This program is designed to help them move from stability to growth. The $5,000 grant, paired with structured training and small business advising, supports informed decision-making and sustainable business growth. We’re proud to continue investing in women veterans who are building strong businesses and contributing to their local economies.”

Grant recipients may use the funding for eligible business growth expenses, including equipment and machinery purchases, technology acquisition, inventory and raw materials, property improvements, marketing initiatives and other qualified business development activities.

As part of the program, grant recipients will receive structured business training and individualized support, including one-on-one small-business advising; participation in a virtual small-business training series covering business planning, marketing, legal considerations, insurance, accounting and finance; and completion of a business plan.
