April 12, 2023 — DENTON —  When a milestone is reached, a celebration is in order.

To that end, Texas Woman’s University’s College of Business is throwing a reception to mark achieving accreditation from AACSB International, considered the world’s leading association of business schools.

The celebration will be Wednesday, April 19 from 5-6:30 p.m. in front of the Phyllis J. Bridges Auditorium at Hubbard Hall on the university’s Denton campus, 304 Administration Drive.

Chancellor Carine M. Feyten, Interim Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Finley Graves and College of Business Dean Rama Yelkur will offer remarks, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

“This accreditation is the gold standard for business education and achieving it is a testament to the quality and excellence of our faculty and staff and the high standards of learning we hold our  students to in the College of Business,” Yelkur said.

Less than 6% of business schools worldwide have gained the association’s accreditation, which is a highly-coveted designation that demonstrates a business college has met the most rigorous standards of excellence in business education. Texas Woman’s College of Business is one of 965 business schools across 60 countries and territories that have received the association’s accreditation.

TWU’s business college was among the first schools to be accredited under AACSB’s 2020 business standards. These new, principles-based standards were created to support schools as they deliver on their unique mission, emphasize outcomes in learning and research and demonstrate positive societal impact.

The COB is the only business school with AACSB accreditation in Texas that offers an MBA with an emphasis in Women in Leadership.

The accreditation process is a comprehensive review of a school’s mission, faculty qualifications, and curricula, and includes in-depth self-evaluations and reviews by peers and committees. This accreditation ensures that COB has the resources, credentials, and commitment needed to provide students with a first-rate, future-focused business education.

Please RSVP if you are interested in attending the reception
