Glenna Pollett '06, '14 is an advisor in TWU’s College of Professional Education. She works with students in the teacher education program, notably in a supervisory role for students completing their student teaching placements.
She is a proud Texas Woman’s University alumna who earned her bachelor’s degree in education and later went on to earn her master’s with a specialization in special education. “TWU’s programs helped prepare me well for my career teaching in Plano ISD, ” she says.
After retiring as a special education teacher at the high school level, she wanted to help students working to earn their education degree. This goal brought her back to TWU as a staff member, supervising student teachers and observing their classroom teaching progress. She says that attending TWU’s education programs provides a connection to the students whom she advises.
“Working in special education for my teaching career prior to advising has given me a great sense of success,” she says. “From helping young students learn to tie their shoes, to working with students building their job skills, and to supporting college-level students as an advisor, these diverse experiences have been wonderful and fulfilling opportunities. To be able to serve my alma mater and help future educators gain important skills, this is a great success.”
