Hold Requests

Currently enrolled TWU students and active TWU faculty and staff members may request general circulating items for pickup at their nearest TWU Libraries Information Desk.

If an item is found in the catalog but currently checked out, placing a hold request also prevents the item from being renewed past its current due date. When the item is returned, it will be set aside for the next user in the request queue.

Placing a Hold

Hold requests may be placed online using the instructions below, or coordinated with a library staff member in person, over the phone (940-898-3701), or through email.  Any TWU campus library (Denton, Dallas, or Houston) may be designated as the pickup location for the item.

How to Place a Hold Request Online

  1. Navigate to TWUniversal.
  2. Search for and locate the item.
  3. Click on the title.
  4. Under the Get It options, Sign-in to your library account (if you haven’t done so already), and click “Request for Hold.”
  5. Select each option, leave a comment if needed, and click REQUEST.
  6. A confirmation note will appear, including your place in the request queue.

Item Pick Up

As a courtesy, a notification email will be sent when an item is ready at your selected campus location. Please visit the library Information Desk with any valid photo ID card or your digital TWU ID card via the Library Mobile App to check out the item from the Hold Shelf.

Items will remain on the Hold Shelf for 10 days.
