Lending to Other Libraries
Who can borrow from us
- We loan items to domestic libraries, including U.S. territories and provide items that do not need to be returned to any library
- Individuals who want to borrow from TWU should contact their local library’s ILL Department
How to make a request
- Submit requests via OCLC, DOCLINE, email, US mail, fax, or the ALA form
- We do not accept RUSH requests and only lend circulating materials
Loan policy
- Lending period is 4 weeks
- Renewals are not allowed
- We will recall items for the TWU community only — not for other libraries
What we do not loan
- Media, reference, microforms, Cook Book Collection, items published in the current year, Childrens’
- Collections, reserve items, tests, browsing, non-circulating items, and materials published prior to 1930
Delivery
- Loans are shipped via Library Mail (USPS) or TexPress/TAE/MALA/KCMLIN courier
- Copies are delivered via Odyssey, email, Article Exchange, and US mail
Charges and billing
- TWU participates in these reciprocal groups: AMIGOS/BCR/MLIN, LVIS, and Free Share
- We charge libraries (through IFM or invoicing) that do not participate in reciprocal agreements
- Lost and damaged books are charged $50 plus a $10 processing fee; TexShare/AMIGOS libraries do not pay the processing fee
- Replacement copies are not accepted
