2025
Dolores Aguilar & Erica Kaufman
Dolores Aguilar and Erica Kaufman are the backbone of our operations, handling everything from renovations and maintenance coordination to visitor logistics with professionalism and grace. Over the past three years, they have navigated significant challenges during major infrastructure updates. They've kept disruption to library services to a minimum through their exceptional flexibility and problem-solving skills. Dolores’s ability to juggle multiple projects while maintaining smooth daily operations, along with her consistently positive demeanor, uplifts the entire team. Erica, meanwhile, has swiftly become a vital member of the library’s leadership, taking a proactive and hands-on approach to both administration and building management, particularly in supporting library student services.

Kimberly Richardson
Kim is widely recognized for her exceptional communication skills, consistently listening and responding to inquiries, suggestions, and concerns from the TWU community with tact, efficiency, and discretion. Often described as "a master of negotiation," she builds trust and reciprocity to effectively gain support for institutional policies and procedures. Her creativity shines through in the engaging library exhibits she curates each month, often incorporating seasonal elements to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Kim’s innovation, professionalism, and leadership make her an invaluable asset to TWU Libraries, where she is both respected across campus and relied upon to maintain high levels of user satisfaction, even during periods of transition.

Elaine Cox
Elaine is widely recognized as a passionate and patient mentor, particularly to doctoral students in the Health Sciences. Celebrated for her brilliance in practice, she is esteemed by both faculty and students as a master researcher, librarian, and teacher whose enthusiasm for research is both evident and inspiring. Her dedication and infectious love of data leave a lasting impression on those she mentors, profoundly shaping their academic and professional journeys. As one student shared, “I channel all that I learned from Elaine and hope I have at least a bit of the impact on my students that she has had on me.” Her passion continues to enrich the experiences of students and faculty alike, and her influence is deeply appreciated.

Chance Maggard
As Access Services Manager, Chance is widely praised for your outstanding customer service and for being the go-to person for information within the Library. His approachable, knowledgeable, and solution-oriented support has made a lasting impression on both colleagues and patrons alike. Beyond his day-to-day excellence, he’s shown to be a creative innovator—especially in work with student assistants, fostering their growth and engagement in meaningful ways. His contributions have also led to significant improvements in the functionality and efficiency of the Library’s administrative office, enhancing operations for the entire team. Chance’s dedication and forward-thinking approach makes him an invaluable member of the library staff.

Susan Whitmer
Susan received the award for her work as a Digital Projects Librarian as well as her TWU and community involvement. The award reflects her commitment to customer service, student empowerment, and transformational learning.

Elaine Cox
Elaine was granted the accolade recognizing her eager and understanding guidance of learners, expertise in library science, and commitment to knowledge preservation in her work as a Health Sciences Librarian.

Mandie Mims
As a Health Sciences Librarian in Dallas, Mandie's commitment to ensuring student and faculty access to resources and services earned her the award for Outstanding Contributions to TWU Libraries for 2018.
