Going Global

A Bird's Eye View of TWU's Denton Campus

Drawing on existing initiatives at Texas Woman's, Going Global aims to increase student, faculty and staff opportunities for global awareness, engagement, and understanding. In today’s ever-changing global society, each of us needs to develop our own global perspective and learn to understand and respect the perspectives of others.

Texas Woman's has an established and ongoing commitment to global engagement. As noted in the first sentence of our university mission, “Texas Woman’s University cultivates engaged leaders and global citizens.” Exploration going forward will include establishing a university-wide structure that supports intentional opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to be effective leaders in global contexts. The Going Global initiative proposes an approach that will leverage existing Texas Woman's global engagement opportunities and create new ones. It will establish institution-wide outcomes related to global engagement; educational opportunities for students, faculty and staff to cultivate a sense of their own global identity while also creating a structure to assess these outcomes.
