School psychology is one of the best-kept career secrets in the field. Amidst a state and national shortage of qualified school psychologists, those graduating with advanced degrees in school psychology are in high demand. It’s not surprising that, for those who choose to pursue careers after graduating from our program, the employment rate is 100 percent.

In addition to our doctorate in school psychology, we are the first public institution in Texas to offer the specialist in school psychology degree, which lies halfway between a master’s and doctoral degree. Our doctoral program is accredited by the American Psychological Association, and both our specialist and doctoral programs are approved by the National Association of School Psychologists. Our students are easily able to earn their school psychology credential or psychology license in all 50 states. School psychologist was rated the best social services job by U.S. News in 2017.
