"It feels like freedom"

TWU's Ilana Morgan has been awarded a $35,000 grant to continue her outreach and research working with justice-involved girls ages 15-17 in a Denton County post-adjudication program called Courage to Change. The program takes place in a gym that is part of the Denton ISD Sparks campus, which operates as part of the Denton County Juvenile Detention Center.

Center for Women in Politics & Public Policy names new director

Marlene Phillips, who has an extensive background in federal government politics, foreign service and public policy, has been named director of the Center for Women in Politics & Public Policy at the Jane Nelson Institute for Women’s Leadership (JNIWL) at Texas Woman’s University. 

TWU's Rosa-Davila appointed to accreditation board

Emarely Rosa-Davila, PhD, assistant professor and program coordinator of TWU's bachelor of social work program, has been appointed to a three-year term with the Council on Social Work Education's Board of Accreditation, which governs accreditation nationwide.

Texas Woman’s University will host Pioneer Preview Day — an open house event for potential first-year, transfer and graduate students — from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday, June 24, on the university’s Denton campus.

Academy helps TWU nurses put best foot forward

Graduation is always a special time for college graduates. For Bachelor of Science in Nursing graduates at Texas Woman’s University, there is an additional initiation into the nursing profession — the pinning ceremony. This year, Academy Sports + Outdoors and Brooks Running added a little something to put even more spring into graduates’ steps.
