We recommend you become familiar, if not already, with theories of second language acquisition, English as a second language methods and strategies, the English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS), the Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS), and sheltered instruction, among other topics. Pearson Education, Inc. administers the TExES exams.  Visit the Texas Educator Certification Examination Program website to register for the English as a Second Language Supplemental (154).
