Historical society honors Feyten for education excellence

Oct. 24, 2023 ― DENTON ― Texas Woman’s University Chancellor Carine Feyten has been recognized with the Dallas Historical Society’s Award for Excellence for her outstanding contributions to education.

Feyten was one of nine honorees selected in August for the society’s excellence awards, which will be presented during the organization’s History Makers Awards for Excellence Luncheon on Nov. 17 at the Fairmont Hotel in Dallas.

Specifically, Feyten was recognized “for serving many of Dallas’ educational organizations with a deeply rooted commitment to educational excellence and equal access opportunities,” according to the society’s announcement. 

The awards were established in 1981 and they recognize individuals and organizations in the Dallas community for their contributions to the quality of life in the areas of arts leadership, creative arts, education, history, humanities, philanthropy, sports leadership and volunteer community leadership.
