Personal/Prohibited Expenses

The following are examples of personal/prohibited expenses:

  • Transportation to/from meals
  • Venmo transaction
  • Lost or stolen items
  • Hygiene items 
  • Over-the-counter medicine
  • State hotel occupancy tax on hotels in Texas
  • Optional insurance (LDW, CDW) on rental cars
  • Alcoholic beverages (unless previously approved and on a discretionary gift account)
  • Damage to personal vehicles, clothing, or other personal items
  • Services to gain entry to a locked vehicle
  • Movie charges on hotel bills
  • Expenses resulting from personal negligence of traveler (such as fines and towing)
  • Entertainment expenses
  • Expenses for children, spouses, and companions during business travel
  • Hotel room safe/deposit box
