Theatre students honored by Kennedy Center

May 3, 2024 – DENTON – Eight students from the Texas Woman's University Theatre Division earned meritorious achievement awards from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival for their efforts in the performance of Eurydice.

Adia Best, who played the lead in her first semester at TWU, and Ethyn Gutierrez, who played Eurydice's father, were named Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship Nominees.

Rey Benavides, Shea Hook and Brenna Petersen, who played the Stones, were honored for Excellence in Ensemble Work.

Tanvi Khanduri and Daniel Sandoval were honored for Excellence in Lighting Design, and Eliot Harrod for Excellence in Sound Design/Special Music Composer.

The play concluded TWU's 2023-24 theatre season.
