Texas Tribune CEO and Editor-in-Chief Evan Smith will moderate this preview of the 84th legislative session and an audience Q&A.

Speakers: Myra Crownover, R-Denton, has represented District 64 in the Texas House since 2000. She serves as vice-chairwoman of the Energy Resources Committee and as a member of the Appropriations and Calendars committees. She also is a member of the Joint Committee on Oversight of Higher Ed Governance, Excellence & Transparency, the Select Committee on Fiscal Impact of Texas Border Support Operations and the Select Committee on Health Care Education & Training. Rep. Crownover is a former public school teacher and now works in the banking and energy industries.
Tan Parker, R-Flower Mound, has represented District 63 in the Texas House since 2007. He serves as chairman of the Corrections Committee and a member of the Land & Resource Management Committee, the Criminal Procedure Reform Select Committee, the Human Trafficking Joint Committee and the Coastal Barrier System Joint Committee. Rep. Parker's professional experience includes work in the management consulting, manufacturing, technology, software, financial services and training industries.
Dr. Ron Simmons, R-Carrollton, has represented District 65 in the Texas House since 2013. He serves as a member of the Homeland Security & Public Safety Committee, the Elections Committee and the Select Committee on Transportation Funding, Expenditures & Finance. Rep. Simmons has worked in the financial, consulting and training industries.
