TWU's Youngblood to perform free faculty recital Sept. 24


Dr. Pamela Youngblood, professor of music and chair of the Department of Music and Drama at Texas Woman’s University, will perform a flute recital Tuesday, Sept. 24 in the Margo Jones Performance Hall, located at Oakland and Sawyer streets on TWU’s Denton campus. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m., and admission is free. For more information, call (940) 898-2500.

The program, titled “Mostly Miniatures,” will feature Daniele Zanettovich’s Suite Miniature, a Waltz, Sarabande and Tango by British composer/actress Madeleine Dring, The Dwarf of Montmartre: The Life of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec in Two Pictures by Czech composer Vladimír Vlna for three flutes and alto flute, and Eric Ewazen’s new Sonata No. 2 for flute and piano.

TWU pianist Gabriel Bita will accompany Dr. Youngblood, along with TWU adjunct flute instructor Amy Coelho, TWU graduate student Melaney Genneken, and Megan Pettitt former flute professor at Lakeland College in Sheboygan, Wisc.
