TWU seeking volunteers for body weight study


DENTON — The Texas Woman’s University Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences is seeking volunteers for a study of the effects of resistant starch on body weight.

The study is open to women and men between the ages of 18 and 50 who are overweight but otherwise healthy. Volunteers should not be taking weight reduction medication or engaging in strenuous activity. Participants will be required to eat two muffins every day for six weeks, along with their regular food. The muffins may or may not contain resistant starch.
