TWU's Thompson receives physical therapy association award


DALLAS — Dr. Mary Thompson, professor of physical therapy at the Texas Woman’s University T. Boone Pickens Institute of Health Sciences Center-Dallas, recently received the Joan Mills Award from the American Physical Therapy Association (ATPA), Section on Geriatrics.

The award, the highest honor presented by the section, recognizes a member who has generously contributed his or her time, talents and efforts to the development of the section. The award was established in honor of the section’s first president.

Dr. Thompson previously has been honored by the ATPA, Section on Geriatrics with the 2007 Distinguished Educator Award. That same year, she received the group’s President’s Award for her contributions to the field.
