Texoma Promise
Texas Woman’s partners with Grayson College to form the Texoma Promise to support first-year and transfer students from Cooke County, Montague County and Graham.

Students that meet the eligibility requirements receive a "last dollar" tuition-free scholarship to TWU for up to 8 consecutive semesters or the completion of a degree (this scholarship applies to tuition only).
This scholarship covers any remaining tuition costs after all Pell grants and/or other federal, state or institutional aid have been applied.
First-Year Student Eligibility
1. Participating High School
Attend a participating high school for the full 22–23 school year and graduate from a participating high school in Cooke County, Montague County and Graham.
2. Submit Pledge by Mar. 30
Submit the Texoma Promise Pledge by the Texoma Promise deadline of March 30 of your senior year of high school and meet all Texoma Promise priority dates and eligibility.
3. Complete the FAFSA or TAFSA
FAFSA filers must be eligible to receive funds through the Federal Pell Grant and TEXAS Grant programs. TASFA filers must be eligible to receive funds through the TEXAS Grant. All required financial aid documents must be received by Mar 1.
4. Enroll
Must start classes the fall semester after high school graduation and register for a minimum of at least 12 credit hours in each semester (fall and spring) and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
5. Residency
Must be a Texas resident for tuition purposes.
6. Family Income
Have a family-adjusted income of $50,000 or less.
Transfer Student Eligibility
1. Associate Degree
Maintain Texoma Promise Pledge eligibility at Grayson College and enroll at TWU the fall after graduation with your transferable associate degree (Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Associate of Arts in Teaching).
2. Complete the FAFSA or TAFSA by Jan. 15
FAFSA filers must be eligible to receive funds through the Federal Pell Grant and TEXAS Grant programs. TASFA filers must be eligible to receive funds through the TEXAS Grant. All required financial aid documents must be received by Mar 1.
3. Apply to TWU by Feb. 14
All students must meet admission criteria and qualifications. All required admissions documents for TWU must be received by Feb. 14.
4. Enroll
Must start classes the fall semester after graduation and register for a minimum of at least 12 credit hours in each semester (fall and spring) and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
5. Residency
Must be a Texas resident for tuition purposes.
6. Family Income
Have a family-adjusted income of $50,000 or less.
Renewal Requirements
The Texoma Promise award is renewable for up to 8 fall and spring semesters or when you earn your first bachelor's degree or 150 attempted credit hours. To renew, you must meet the following:
- Submit the FAFSA/TASFA every year by Jan. 15 priority date and remain eligible based on income and residency requirements
- Maintain consecutive enrollment in a minimum of 12 credit hours each fall and spring semester
- Maintain a minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.0
