First Time Blackboard Collaborate Users

If this is your first time to use Blackboard Collaborate, you may be prompted to download and install Collaborate Launcher. The Download and Install Blackboard Collaborate for Canvas Knowledge Base article will provide information to get users started with Blackboard Collaborate. For technical issues, please contact the TWU Technology Service Desk at 940-898-3971.

Interacting During the Presentation

In order to speak during a Blackboard Collaborate session, you will need to have a headset with a microphone set up on your computer. USB headsets tend to work best with Blackboard Collaborate, but 3.5mm audio plug headsets may also work if your system has the proper jacks built in. If you need to borrow a headset please let us know. Teaching and Learning with Technology has a few USB headsets available to check-out and return.

As soon as you join a Blackboard Collaborate session run the Audio Setup Wizard to be able to hear and speak. Review the Blackboard Collaborate Audio Setup Wizard [pdf]. If you are having a lot of audio issues during the session, try running the audio setup wizard a second time to fix the problem.
