Terry Foundation Scholarship
The Terry Foundation is a Houston-based organization founded to provide scholarships to outstanding Texas high school graduates for attendance at public universities within the state. Established in 1986 by Houston philanthropists Howard and Nancy Terry, the Foundation has assisted hundreds of Terry Scholars in meeting the Founders' goal of helping young people to help themselves. Texas Woman’s University enrolled its first Terry Scholars in fall 2013.
The Terry scholarship program provides more than just a check to cover tuition--Terry students experience college differently! In addition to support and leadership opportunities, students enjoy rich academic, cultural and social activities that enhance classroom learning.
Terry scholarship applications will be evaluated in mid-January. Candidates who advance in the process will be invited to participate in the Scholarship Invitational. Following interviews, Texas Woman’s University will make nominations to the Terry Foundation for final interviews. The Terry Foundation will conduct final interviews and select the TWU Terry Scholarship recipients. Final decisions are made by the Terry Foundation; Texas Woman’s University serves as a nominating body.
