Terry Foundation Scholarship
Eligibility Requirements
Terry scholarship applications will be evaluated in mid-January. Candidates who advance in the process will be invited to participate in the Scholarship Invitational. Following interviews, Texas Woman’s University will make nominations to the Terry Foundation for final interviews. The Terry Foundation will conduct final interviews and select the TWU Terry Scholarship recipients. Final decisions are made by the Terry Foundation; Texas Woman’s University serves as a nominating body.

- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
- A record of leadership in school and/or community
- Strong academic abilities
- Grades – Minimum 3.0
- Demonstrate financial need
- Will graduate from a Texas high school or home-school program in Texas
- Acceptance to TWU as a full-time entering freshmen for the fall semester
- Standardized test scores will not be required for the fall 2022 application
Scholarship Awards
A holistic review of academic factors, activities/involvement and leadership ability will be provided to all applicants that meet the criteria and successfully complete the application process.
The award amount is determined annually based on the cost of attendance at TWU, including tuition, fees, books, on-campus housing, meal plan and personal expenses. The actual amount of the award will vary for each scholar, depending on other scholarship awards and the ability of the scholar's family to contribute to the cost of college.
The Foundation provides a last dollar scholarship to cover up to the total cost of attendance for four years. All final decisions regarding Terry Foundation Scholarship awards and award amounts are made by the Terry Foundation. Over $10 million has been awarded to Terry scholars at TWU since 2013.
Student Housing

Terry Scholars are required to live on campus during the first year in in the Terry Scholar Living Learning Community. Living together helps create a strong community and Terry Scholars form lasting friendships during their time in the residence hall. Many choose to continue to live with other Terry Scholars on campus after their first year.
