Hobbies: Hiking, watching/listening to Spanish shows and music to learn Spanish, reading, coffee shops, going shopping at Target, and utilizing social media to keep in touch with old friends and acquaintances.

Mailyn Ayala is a senior on track to earn her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management. She joined the SMMC because she believes it will be a great experience that ties into her degree. The center is housed in the Division of Finance & Administration which excites Mailyn — she feels like she is utilizing her degree before finishing it! She is also eager to use her customer service experience to make students feel welcomed, and to communicate and reaffirm that the student is student-friendly and approachable.

Haylie Beard, a junior transfer from Hill College, is majoring in Kinesiology/Pre-PT with the goal of becoming a physical therapist. She joined the SMMC team to not only learn a lot about money management, but to also help students because she knows what it feels like to think, “I cannot pay for anything.” Haylie would love to see how helping students learn how to deal with money in a smart way could really impact their opportunities!

Hobbies: Playing video games and listening to music

Paulina, who also goes by Lina, is a second-year nursing major. She joined the SMMC team because she has had financial difficulties, and believes that this job will increase her financial knowledge while working in a fun environment on campus. She wants to help others be financially responsible so that in the future they will not have any financial stress or debt.
