Jane Nelson Institute for Women’s Leadership (JNIWL) Awards
The JNIWL is no longer accepting applications for FY 2022 or FY 2023 funding as we have reached the threshold for appropriated funding during the current state biennium.
The express purpose of funding allocated by the Jane Nelson Institute for Women’s Leadership (JNIWL) is to help women advance their leadership skills and experience in order to prepare them to take on successful roles in business and public service. One of the goals of the JNIWL is to be the repository of research and information about women’s leadership. This program is intended to provide funds for TWU faculty and staff to conduct projects that contribute to this goal. Applications are accepted year round with no specific deadline. Projects that do not directly align with women in leadership will not be considered.
There is no upper limit on the amount that can be requested. Awards are typically under $100,000 per year. Funding for up to two academic years may be requested, and a continuation proposal may be submitted for additional project years. Future funding is contingent on the availability of funds.
Applications should be prepared using the Application Form, Budget Template, and Guidelines. There is no deadline for the submission of applications but funds should be requested at least one-month prior to the start date of the project. Completed applications should be submitted to the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs using the email below. The application will be pre-reviewed by ORSP for completeness and funding eligibility. ORSP will then route the completed applications for required approvals before sending forward to the JNIWL to make the funding decision.
Please refer to the guidelines for details and email JaneNelsonAwards@twu.edu if you have questions or need additional information.
