All prospective prelicensure students applying to the upper-division BSN Program, including both traditional and weekend/evening tracks, are required to complete the ATI TEAS 7 Entrance Examination. Candidates achieving an individual score or 64% or higher within each section of the entrance examination are eligible to apply for the College of Nursing’s upper division program through the NursingCAS platform.

Candidates are limited to two attempts per admission cycle:

  • Fall Admission Cycle: August 16th - February 1st
  • Spring Admission Cycle: February 2nd - August 15th

Exam retakes are not subject to any time restrictions, however, candidates are encouraged to review their official score report to determine areas of weakness and explore practice test options through ATI. TEAS score reports must fall within a 12-month timeframe of the application deadline for which the candidate is applying. TEAS score reports that are uploaded to NursingCAS and do not follow this policy will be considered invalid.

DSS Accommodations

Exam accommodations are approved by TWU’s Disability Services for Students (DSS). Upon successful registration through DSS, you will be provided an Academic Accommodations Letter that will need to be forwarded to Taylor Behning at tbehning@twu.edu

Once the department has confirmed receipt of the Academic Accommodations Letter, you may continue to coordinate accommodations for the TEAS Entrance Examination.

Accommodations for time will be applied directly to the ATI platform for remote testing, while accommodations for paper-pencil testing must be requested through myDSS.

If only using TWU to take the TEAS Exam with no plan to enroll at TWU, use the accommodation notice via the university or college where you are currently attending. All documentation must be submitted directly from the college/university you are currently attending to serve as official notice indicating approval of accommodations.
