Written in 1939, but significantly reworked in 1949, the epic is set in Europe during the Thirty Years’ War. Anna Fierling, nicknamed “Mother Courage,” follows the army with her cart and three adult children in tow, selling food, booze and tools to anyone with money—while simultaneously bargaining for the lives of her children. Mother Courage believes, like so many before and since, that she can make war turn a profit without exacting any cost from herself. But can anyone escape the cost of war?

The cast of Mother Courage and Her Children features undergraduate students Michael Diaz, Bryce Neel, Katherine Hogan, Alandra Baptiste, Damon Wadyko, Walker Delk, Eric Molina, Meagan Harris, Lauren Jordan, Hope Warner, Claire Parry, Tatum Pecora, Melania Amaya and Grant Tidwell. Graduate student Bronwyn Sullenberger will play the title role.

This production will feature Patrick Bohmier as stage manager and Hannah Fuller as assistant stage manager. Guest artist Ryan Burkle will serve as lighting designer and associate professor Rhonda Gorman will provide set and costume design. Undergraduate student Kellsie Flanagan will serve as sound designer.
