Three Texas Woman’s nursing faculty among 2017 DFW “Great 100 Nurses”
Anita Hufft, dean of the Texas Woman’s University College of Nursing, and nursing faculty members Fuqin Liu and Jo-Ann Stankus are among the honorees for the prestigious 2017 Dallas-Fort Worth Great 100 Nurses awards. Hufft, Liu and Stankus were chosen from about 800 nurses across North Texas nominated for the honor and will be recognized at an award ceremony April 17, 2017 at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas.
Texas Woman’s Alumna Anita Hufft, Ph.D., RN, has served as the dean of the TWU College of Nursing since 2014. Fuqin Liu, Ph.D., RN, is an associate professor of nursing at TWU’s Denton campus, and Jo-Ann Stankus, Ph.D., is an assistant nursing professor and coordinator for the TWU RN-BS/MS 100% online program.
TWU has had 20 nursing faculty and several alumni named to the DFW Great 100 Nurses list since the list was started in 1991.
The Great 100 Nurses of Dallas and Fort Worth honors one hundred nurses nominated by their peers for being role models, leaders, community servants, compassionate caregivers and significant contributors to the nursing profession. The nurses recognized come from all practice areas in nursing including acute care, sub-acute care, school nursing, nurse leaders, academics and many more.
