TWU's Kerley receives Advocate for Excellence in Literacy Award
TWU development officer Cathy Tedrick Kerley, right, received an Advocate for Excellence in Literacy Award during the 2015 Billie J. Askew Reading Recovery and Literacy Institute, held Nov. 2-3 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Dallas. The award is presented to someone who has worked hard to maintain, expand and/or fund Reading Recovery and/or Descubriendo la Lectura. Kerley’s fundraising efforts during the five-year i3 Grant period were credited with enabling the program to maintain federal government funding. Pictured with Kerley is Larry LeFlore, dean of the TWU Graduate School, who presented the TWU Welcome at the event.
