Executive MHA

The Executive MHA (eMHA) option is a graduate degree track within the Health Care Administration Program at TWU-Houston available to students who have three or more years of management experience. The eMHA waives the Level I (Foundation) courses for experienced managers who have already demonstrated that they have contemporary knowledge of the health care field (preferred), as well as documented experience utilizing sound management principles in their management roles. The executive track allows students to start with the Level 2 Courses of our current Course Sequence, and complete the remaining courses alongside other MHA students in the order which best matches their work and lifestyle responsibilities, with some priority to prerequisites.

The eMHA option awards the same master’s degree as the regular MHA program, and is under the same accreditation umbrella as the regular program. The accreditation is through the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME).

Admission requirements

(the GRE/GMAT requirement is waived for executive track applicants)

  1. A letter of Interest.
  2. Three letters of reference from professional contacts in support of their management experience and ability to complete the program.  One of these letters must be from their current employer.
  3. A resume.

  5. At least 3-5 years of management experience in addition to any experience before assuming a management position.  Only relevant management experience would be considered.

We believe the eMHA will meet the  needs of the working professional for a flexible and convenient program (Monday through Thursday, all evening classes, many hybrid classes), available on-site support services, sensitivity for adults who are taking courses with traditional-age students, and opportunities to connect with their employing institutions through our commitment to local professional societies.
