How to Join
The Office of Greek Life requires that potential members have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA and are enrolled full-time (12 credit hours) at TWU. Some chapters have higher GPA requirements.
Process of Joining a Fraternity or Sorority
Interfraternity Council (IFC)
The Interfraternity Council does not host formal recruitment as a council, but rather on an individual chapter basis. Currently TWU has one IFC group, Kappa Sigma. If you are interested in a Kappa Sigma, please contact them directly and look out for their Recruitment Week flyers.
Multicultural Greek Council (MGC)
The Multicultural Greek Council recruits on an individual chapter basis. If you are interested in a particular chapter (Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity, Sigma Lambda Alpha Sorority, Sigma Lambda Gamma Sorority, and Lambda Theta Alpha Sorority), please contact them directly and look out for their Recruitment Week flyers.
National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC)
If you are interested in one of the four NPHC sororities (Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Zeta Phi Beta, and Sigma Gamma Rho) or NPHC fraternity (Phi Beta Sigma), you are encouraged to attend their events throughout the year. Once you are ready to inquire more information regarding membership, you will need to attend the Informational/Interest Meeting for the specific organization of interest.
Panhellenic Council (PC)
At TWU we have three Panhellenic Sororities (Alpha Gamma Delta, Alpha Omicron Pi, and Sigma Sigma Sigma). During the Fall semester they will host a formal recruitment process where you will be able to meet all chapters and participate in a mutual selection process. For more information visit the Panhellenic Council Recruitment page. After Panhellenic Recruitment in the fall, if chapters have room in their membership, they will host additional recruitment events in the fall and spring.
