Graduate Student Newsletter

Grad school is working on a monthly student spotlight. If you know of any phenomenal students in your program let me know so that we can recommend them for that.
Add a recruitment aid in the Newsletter and resources for graduate students on things like forming a committee, funding etc. Look into GSC corner or something like that in the newsletter

Partnership with UNT GSC

Social Event- Ice Cream Social -10/1/21
Grad School 101- Virtual Panel – 10/26 will need 1 more panelist from our GSC
Strategic Career Planning Virtual Event- February 2022

Dr. Larry LeFlore Leadership Initiative

Brainstorm ideas for soft skill development for graduate students going to various vocational fields
How long should it be?
What tangibles would we like to include? (Credits/Certificates/Cords)
- Certificate & cords
- 5 Paths ie: DEI, Presentation, Interview with three sections each so Interview could include- strength finders, salary negotiation and CV/Resume writing
- Each participant would get a book to compliment their path
When would we like it to start?
- Spring 2022 at the earliest and Fall 2022 at the latest

Other event ideas

Twice a year panel with new faculty about the academic job market and that process
Partner with the Career Center for non academic equivalent
