The Texas Woman's University Institute of Health Sciences – Houston Center set the standard for all new major construction projects completed by the Facilities Management and Construction (FMC) Department after 2005. FMC Houston Center staff is charged with the operation and maintenance of the 10-story 197,380 square foot facility contiguous to the Houston Medical District that opened in the Fall of 2006. Beautiful natural finishes, cutting edge technological learning and teaching spaces, sustainable equipment and building system designed for educating a growing work place ready population and maximizing the experience of student/facility interactions. The staff’s effectiveness and efficiency is reflected in the ambience of the building. Behind-the-scene equipment repairs, installations and day-to-day operations which include changing air and water filters, motors, control systems components, pumps, and refreshing paint surfaces are scheduled and executed with little or no disruptions to building occupants.
