Mascot

In 2017 Texas Woman’s selected the owl as TWU’s official Athletics mascot for its representation of commitment to excellence in competition and in the classroom. In 2018, the owl mascot was officially named Oakley by current student, faculty, staff, and alumni, with respect to the oak leaf, both on TWU class rings and on the cuff of baccalaureate regalia.

All candidates selected will be part of the Spirit Program. To be considered candidates must meet the following pre-requisites:

  • Applied (or current student) to Texas Woman’s University
  • In good academic standing
  • Commit to at least 15 hours a week of practice and events (the student must be very flexible with his/her schedule as it is subject to change)
  • All student-athletes must abide by the standards of the Spirit Program
