CFE Fellow Program
The Center for Faculty Excellence Fellows Program is designed to give individual faculty members the opportunity to serve in a leadership role in a professional development area of their own choosing. Such areas may include: innovative approaches to teaching and learning, the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL), effective techniques for large lecture classes, high-impact strategies, fostering diversity and inclusion in the classroom, adjunct faculty support, peer review and observation, mid-career or faculty leadership development, etc.
The expectation of the program is that the selected fellows will serve as a mentor/support for other faculty within their chosen area of expertise, create a university-wide workshop on their topic, create a deliverable (article, white paper, learning module) for future faculty use and participate, as much as possible, in the broader workings of the center. CFE Faculty Fellows are awarded course reassignment to work on their project.
All project resources and deliverables developed by a Faculty Fellow will be made available to the wider TWU community via the CFE website and other channels. Applications for the Fall 2019 semester will be accepted from all full-time faculty members (tenured, tenure-track, and clinical/lecturer) who possess some experience in faculty development and who are interested in contributing to various projects/initiatives of the CFE.
Applicants must submit a project proposal/letter of interest, a current 2-page cv, and the endorsement form signed by their academic component administrator and dean which indicates support for the faculty member’s application to the Faculty Fellows program. Please download and use the official CFE Faculty Fellow Form 2019.
If selected, the faculty member will receive reassignment for one semester to work in the Center within their proposed leadership area. CFE Faculty Fellow support is primarily for reassignment; extensive additional project funding (if needed) must be obtained by the Faculty Fellow from other sources prior to participation in the program.
Submit all application materials electronically to Dr. Jörg Waltje, Executive Director, Center for Faculty Excellence (firstname.lastname@example.org), by 5:00 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2019.
Please feel free to get in touch to discuss your project and application before submission.
