Minerva Scholarships

This statue, affectionately called Minerva by Texas Woman's students, pays tribute to the spirit of the pioneer women of Texas. Looking for a way to pay for part of your studies while developing your new business idea? Apply to be a Minerva Scholar.

The Center offers annual scholarships up to $1,000 for both undergraduate and master's level students. No matter where you live now, you are eligible to apply if you plan to attend TWU and open a business in Texas, as well as meet other eligibility requirements.

This scholarship is non-discipline specific. Select any major offered at TWU — from kinesiology to nursing, from teaching to nutrition. If you have a business in mind that builds off the bachelor's or master's degree you will earn at TWU, we encourage you to apply for the Minerva Scholarship.

This scholarship program offers several benefits to help you become a small business owner:

  • Business plan development with help from a mentor
  • One-on-one coaching
  • Specialized training and workshops

We've already awarded 40+ Texas Woman's students with the first Minerva Scholarships. Learn more about these future Texas business owners.

The Center hosts many events throughout the year with you in mind. Check out our Professional Development page for details on the various activities offered, many of them free for TWU students.

If you are looking for someone to bounce ideas off of or to talk to and get advice, please contact us for more information about how to get matched with a mentor.
