ODK National Day of Service
To inspire service to our community, ODK hosts a National Day of Service each year. Projects have included:
Don’t Mess with Texas: Trash Clean-Up
The Center for Student Leadership traveled to Mineral Wells, Texas, on November 4, 2017, to host its Omicron Delta Kappa Day of Service. On that day, they assisted USAF Retired, Colonel Kimberly Olson in cleaning a two-mile stretch of Highway 180. Olson also guided the group of young leaders on a tour throughout her 4K River Ranch, teaching them about sustainable agriculture, beekeeping and the duties of the Texas Department of Agriculture.
It’s On Us: Luncheon for the Denton Law Enforcement
As a token of their gratitude to the Denton Law Enforcement, the students of the TWU Omicron Delta Kappa circle hosted a Thanksgiving luncheon on November 11, 2016, for the officers of the TWU, University of North Texas (UNT), and the Denton City and County police forces. No other words can compensate for the endless hours and energy they have sacrificed for our safety, but we can all start with, “Thank you.” #itsonus
Thanksgiving Lunch for the TWU Facilities Management
The Center for Student Leadership ODK members teamed up with TWU Athletics to host a Dickey’s Barbecue lunch to thank TWU’s hard-working facilities management staff on November 10, 2015. Up to 60 staff members of TWU’s landscape, custodial maintenance, and central plant operations were graciously served by student volunteers that day.
