NIH Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award Individual Predoctoral Fellowship to Promote Diversity in Health-Related Research $23,844 stipend. Up to $16,000 for tuition and fees. $4,200 institutional allowance (Supplies, health insurance, travel to conferences, equipment, books) Ph.D. candidate, US citizen or permanent resident who identifies as African American, Hispanic American, American Indian, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, and other Pacific Islander. Or ... "Individuals with disabilities, who are defined as those with a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, as described in the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, as amended." National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship Full payment of tuition and fees, $3,200 a month stipend, $1,500 for health insurance for up to 4 years (based on continued funding) US citizens only. Must be completing bachelors or within first 2 years of their PhD December-January
AAUW Dissertation Fellowship $20,000 Female, US citizen or permanent resident. Completing your 1st doctoral degree November
Sigma Xi Grants-In-Aid of Research up to $1000 (vision-related research up to $2,500) Sigma Xi membership encouraged (75% of funds designated for Sigma Xi members) March, October
Texas Society for Microscopy Small Grant up to $1,500 Research at a Texas institution, 3.0 GPA, research utilizing microscopy. Mentor and student must become TSM members January 31
