Alumni and Student Awards
Every year the Texas Woman's Alumni Association honors the achievements of both our graduates and current students.
Alumni Awards
Chancellor's Alumni Excellence Award
Texas Woman's Chancellor recognizes exceptional career and/or public service achievements by TWU graduates every Fall.
Nomination Procedure:
- Complete the Chancellor's Alumni Excellence Award Nomination Form
- Nominees will be notified and will be required to submit an official application
- Nomination Deadline: July 29
Recognition:
- The recipients will be honored permanently on a recognition wall in the Second Floor Foyer of the Administrative & Conference Tower
- Recipients agree to have their story used in the promotion and marketing of TWU and to be invited to campus to speak to students and faculty
- An attractive Lucite award appropriate for display will be given to each honoree
- The Chancellor or Chancellor’s Representative will present the award to each recipient during the campus visit or at another appropriate venue
Criteria to be Considered for Award:
- Exceptional achievement in career field and/or public service which may include:
- A distinguished record of professional accomplishments within chosen career field and its affiliations
- A demonstrated record of service, bettering the lives of others
- National or international leadership, recognition and/or contributions in career field or public service
- Recipients must agree to
- Have their story used in the promotion and marketing of TWU
- Return to one of the TWU campus locations to speak to students and faculty

Distinguished Alumni Award
The Distinguished Alumni Award is the most prestigious distinction presented to TWU alumni who have brought honor to themselves and Texas Woman’s University through their outstanding accomplishments and notable contributions to society. The award is presented at the annual Accolades Awards Luncheon held during Homecoming in April.

Nomination Procedure:
- Complete the Distinguished Alumni Nomination Form
- Have the nominee complete the Distinguished Alumni Nominee Form
- Submit the Nomination Form by September 15
Criteria to be Considered for Award:
- At least one degree from Texas Woman’s University
- Professional experience
- Publications, research, artistic endeavors
- Volunteer service to the profession and/or the community
- Honors and awards
- Leadership roles
- Support of the University since graduation through, for example, participation in the TWU Alumni Association, involvement with students and/or service with an academic department
Hallmark Alumni Award
The Hallmark Alumni Award is presented to TWU graduates who through their education and personal conduct have made a significant positive impact on their profession or community. They have demonstrated initiative, implemented a bright idea or accepted a major challenge and achieved significant results. As rising young stars exemplifying a “can do” spirit, they have brought honor to themselves and Texas Woman’s University through their accomplishments and service to others.
Nomination Procedure:
- Complete the Hallmark Award Nomination Form
- Have the nominee complete the Hallmark Alumni Nominee Form
- Submit the Nomination Form by September 15.
Selection for this award is made by the Alumni Awards Committee comprised of TWU faculty, staff, students and alumni.
Nominee's Instructions
- Complete Nominee’s Questionnaire. Insert any information from your resume/vitae that you believe best answers each question. Please answer every question completely.
- Submit a professional copy of your resume/vitae. Please include citations for publications, presentations, contributions to society and academic benefits.
- Attach your three letters of reference
- Attach the Reference Contact Sheet, listing your three references and phone numbers for follow up
- Submit the Nominee Form by October 1
Criteria to be Considered for Award:
- At least one degree from Texas Woman’s University
- Professional experience
- Service to their profession and community
- Leadership roles
- Support of the University since graduation through involvement with their Department, students and/or the TWU Alumni Association
Alumni Service Award
The Alumni Service Award recognizes and honors alumni who have served the Association with dedication, service and love over the years.
Criteria to be Considered for Award:
- Attended TWU, need not have earned a degree
- Served the Association in some capacity
- Given time and talents to the Association over a period of years
- Exhibited loyalty to TWU
Lifetime Achievement Award
TWU's Alumni Association recognizes and honors alumni for a lifetime of accomplishments. Their accomplishments demonstrate devotion to their family, profession, and/or their volunteer efforts to exemplify the spirit of Texas Woman's.
Pioneer Spirit Award
The Pioneer Spirit Award recognizes exemplary contributions to the spirit of the Alumni Association and TWU, including remarkable contributions to the unity of a class, to the Association or chapter.
Student Awards
Outstanding Student Awards
Every spring the Alumni Association recognizes TWU’s top students who exhibit academic excellence, scholarly efforts and involvement that bring distinction to the University.
Eligibility:
To be eligible, undergraduate and graduate students must be expected to graduate in the next two semesters or completed their degree requirements by the next academic year.
Nomination Procedure:
- Faculty, staff or students are eligible to nominate students
- Students may also nominate their peers
- Email Barbara Rogers for information on how to nominate a student for this award
- After you nominate a student, they will be contacted and encouraged to apply for the award
Criteria to be Considered for Award:
- Minimum GPA of 3.5
- Completed application
- Three recommendation forms (For graduate students: one form must be completed by major professor/advisor)
- Personal statement
- Resume/Curriculum Vita

Beulah Kincaid Fry Student Award
In recognition of over 100 years of graduates from TWU, the Alumni Association honors one student that has received any scholarship.
Nomination Procedure:
- Faculty, staff or students are eligible to nominate students by completing the Beulah Kincaid Fry Student Award Nomination Form
Criteria to be Considered for Award:
- Lead in supporting Alumni Association activities
- Work to carry out our university's mission
